Do NOT go here. I'm being billed $207 AFTER insurance for absolutely nothing. I had an initial video meeting with Dr. Ansari where he simply told me I would have to book sessions with a psychologist or take a test with a psychologist to determine what help I needed. I have never been to a practice where they made you see a psychologist before a psychiatrist will actually help you.

I asked for my records from my previous doctor to be faxed to them. I waited and heard nothing. I reached out to Dr. Ansari and he said on 12/2 that he would be in the office soon and check the status of my files. Today is 12/12 and he still has NOT contacted me. I received a bill via email and I replied that I haven't received any help. They said my previous doctor did send the files but I needed to reach out to the doctor and schedule an appointment to go over everything. Funny how they received my files and over the 3 business days they had them NO ONE bothered to reach out to me and it's only after they want money that they inform me they have my records.

This is a greedy practice with no communication. Avoid!

I was able to get in to see a doctor within a few weeks but the rest of my experience was sub par. I did not feel heard during the visit and left without any answers. The office felt cold. I also never received a reminder for a follow up appt which I missed and are charging a no show fee for. I will be appealing and not going back.

Dr. Ansari is the worst doctor I have ever had the displeasure of being the patient of. I highly recommend looking for another doctor. Despite having side effects from my medication, he was unwilling to lower my dose. He actually hung up the call while I was mid-sentence trying to explain that I would feel better being consistently on a lower dose every day than a higher dose 5/7 days. I don't think he keeps up with research or cares to actually treat a patient at all. The first two calls, he spent rambling about his own life rather than giving me any information or time to speak. Such a bizarre experience.

I would not recommend this business, if you can call it that, to anyone. I started therapy and the following month received a bill that I immediately paid. The following month I didn't get a bill, but I work in healthcare so I thought that the insurance company may have been slow to process the claims. The following month I got a huge bill, which I was fine with. The office called me the day after I got the bill to "warn" me it was coming. I explained that I didn't get a bill the previous month and I would take care of it. No big deal. The following week I had a major crisis and was talking to my psychologist about it. At the end of the session the psychologist acknowledged that I needed therapy and I was going through a lot but she had to cancel my next week's appointment and I couldn't schedule anymore because of my outstanding balance. I told her I just got the bill the week before and when I talked to her office no one told me I had to pay it immediately, especially since that's not the terms on the bill. I called the office and I was told that the determination to stop services is up to the provider! Wow! The provider obviously only cares about money because she cut me off without any warning and didn't care that her office didn't send me a bill. It's her job to communicate and she couldn't communicate her concerns with me so I could handle the matter. When I complained to the office about the bill all they could do was pass the blame on their third party biller. The third party biller that they hired to do a job that they aren't doing. I stopped seeing the provider as a result of the unprofessionalism. I set up a payment plan for 2 months to get the bulk down. I didn't get another bill for another 2 months. I made a payment on it and used the link provided to continue to make payments since again I wasn't getting monthly bills. They are so disorganized that I got a call one month stating that I needed to make a payment even though I already made one. Currently the link I was using to make payments doesn't work. I emailed the office asking for a bill and I haven't gotten a response. I've only gotten 2 bills from this office in 6 months. I was just reading other reviews and it seems a common trend with this office that they aren't willing to correct. I would recommend Headway to anyone looking for services. There are a lot of providers to choose from and their billing is very streamlined. I've been using them for several months with no issues.

Would also give a zero if I could. Just got a phone call from a collection agency that I owed Potomac Psychological Center money from 3 years ago! I have not had any correspondence with them since May of 2020. No emailed invoice reminder saying I hadn't paid, no mailed invoice saying I still owed money. My appointment was during the pandemic, my business was closed but I know I had to pay the first bill before I could schedule the next appointment, which I had to cancel. I have all this in emails. Speaking with someone from billing just now, who continually said " I didn't work here then" all she could say was once it was sent to the collection agency, there was nothing they can do about it. How about invoice me? Is this seriously the way to treat people who were dealing with the anxiety of the pandemic and their businesses closing? Somehow they could manage to send something to a credit agency but couldn't manage the decency to send me something for 2.5 years? Now the burden of my having this removed off of my 800 point credit report falls on me! And believe me, I will refute this charge!

After being told 4 months ago that I have a zero balance with this company I was just given a bill. I have no idea how they stay in business. The disorganization is unreal. Headway had been fantastic!! Wonderful provider and not one billing issue since I started using them over 8 months ago

This doctor’s office is absolutely terrible! They never answer their phone or answer emails in a timely manner, staff is rude and sassy, as if I wasn’t paying for their services. They refused to take my insurance and made me paid OOP, which I honestly don’t really mind but why do they accept other Pt’s insurances and not others? I know this because I have coworkers who we have the exact same insurance/policy and they took their insurances but not mine? Also, these ppl treat their Pts as if we all were mentally challenged, trying to charge $10 for a print out of copays?! The sole action of clicking print is not worth $10 but they would make it look as if it was whole day of work. Their office manager and billing dpt are not qualified to run a practice. Dr Ansari is somewhat ok considering he charges $200 to speak over the phone for 7mins (that’s just a F/U, new Pt charge is $350) but the staff makes the experience a total disaster.
I’ve been in the medical field for a decade in northern VA and I have done clinical and front desk work at countless doctors offices in the area and I would gladly show them how to their work. I DO NOT recommend this practice. Don’t waste your money or time here.

While the practitioners have been great in my experience, the administration is severely lacking. They are not capable of billing with insurance efficiently, make errors on bills, do not answer the phone calls or return them, bill literally years after service, and generally make doing anything with them extremely difficult.
