I called to explicitly ask if I could get an appointment with a psychiatrist that would evaluate whether or not I have ADHD and they said yes. I confirmed this specifically because many say they don’t diagnose. I went in and the psychiatrist didn’t make me feel comfortable at all and asked dozens of question only for him to tell me that he can’t diagnose me because I’m a high-performing woman. I wasted my time for them to not be able to provide something they explicitly said they would. This appointment costed hundreds of dollars just to make me uncomfortable and waste my time. That’s one thing and I was over that but weeks before my appointment, they called to take my copayment over the phone. I thought it was weird but I gave them my credit card information. Now they’ve been spamming me non-stop for an extra $10 to the copay they requested of me! Now they’re threatening to send me to collections. What the heck?

I have had the most difficult time bouncing back and forth between this office and patient ally support, because I never received my intake documents. No one could help and someone named Siman has just hung up on us. This is ridiculous because I have just left the hospital and now they have cancelled both of my appointments. Do better and learn to be kind.

I finally feel heard. It was incredibly easy to set up an appointment and the doctors and staff are always more than friendly. I'm glad I found this place. After struggling with ADHD for years, they were able to get me the help I needed.

If only there was a zero star... forget about the facility that doesn't feel comforting, the therapist appeared to be ready to leave as her keys and purse were on the desk in our room. I have been to therapists before. They usually tried to get a full picture of the issues. This one, she was judgemental to say the least.... While I was still in tears, she said, "Oh, our time is up. But, I hope you come back." For real Your insurance might be different from mine, but they billed $275.00 for this exact hour of waste of my time, adding insult to my injuries, ... I was more angry leaving this session than before I went in.
So, yes, if there was zero star to give.

I had a recent telehealth visit with Rozana Ki, NP of Medpsych Associates. She impressed me with her caring professional attitude, reacting with patience and so many suggestions to help me. I highly recommend her and appreciate continuing my experience with her.

Rozana really listens and wants to help you figure out the best course of action - and she has a lovely demeanor. Even though our time is limited, I never feel rushed. She will also research areas in which she is not familiar that might be of help.

Very attentive, understanding, and responsive. Would recommend for anyone looking for a psychologist. Very flexible about deciding on medications that are eight for you personally.

Timeline of my issues:

I was in an inpatient program at MedStar Franklin Square and worked with an outpatient coordinator to find a company that took my insurance. I was scheduled in a reasonable timeframe with Dr Makiadya and therapist Veronica Bradford. After my first appointments, I went to schedule my next and was told I need a referral from my PCP per my insurance policy. I spoke with insurance and that was not the case but MedPsych stone walled me into getting the PCP referral to be able to schedule. Fine, no problem.

After sorting that out (3 months later due to issues with medsych admins timely communication) I had a few appointments and ended up missing one as it was scheduled 2 days after I sent an email to have an appointment scheduled for as soon as possible. I ended up missing it because I had no text or email notification saying I had an appointment. Come to find out from billing, if your appointment is scheduled 3 days out from when you requested, you will get the notification. Otherwise, you will not. I was then responsible for a $25 missed appointment fee.

2 problems here: why was I not initially informed that I would not get a reminder for the appointment if it is scheduled 3 days within the time I requested? And why do you only send text reminders 3 days in advance of the appointment and not on the day of or the day before? It’s like they are setting you up to miss the appointment and collect your non insured payment.

During the 3 months I was fighting to get a PCP referral, I had to schedule with my PCP to refill my medication. The next appointment with Dr Makaidya he, I wouldn’t say scolded, but stated in a different tone to only ensure I’m getting medication from him. It was a tone deaf statement to hear as he didn’t understand the nonsense I was going through on the administrative end to be able to see him again. Is your team not communicating about this with the doctors?

In that timeframe, Dr Makaidya and Veronica never reached out to see when I would schedule again.

I have now been told I cannot schedule appointments as I have outstanding payments and I had no idea for what. I found out by emailing to schedule an appointment and admin told me. I never got a call from billing, I checked patient ally and there was no correspondence I have outstanding bills. Come to find out, last Friday I got a letter in the mail that 4 of my psychiatry appointment with Dr Makaiyda were not submitted to insurance and they are trying to stick me with a $600 bill! My policy restarted this May so 3 of those appointments (2/13, 2/27, and 4/8) should have been sent to insurance and paid out as my deductible had been met. This is poor practice and horribly stressful for someone whose main reason for going to therapy was due to a suicide attempt BECAUSE of financial hardship, major depression and anxiety.

The question for this issue now is, why are they stone walling me now but not for the 2/27 appointment or the 4/8 appointment or the 5/10 appointment. Help me understand?! I have left 3 voicemails since last Wednesday to billing and the message states they will call back in 1-2 business days…still haven’t received a call.

Administration policies here are terrible! Change the text reminder policy!! It’s simple!

I was told in my inpatient program that the treatment plan I worked on with my social worker would be followed by the therapist. I have yet to follow my treatment plan or even see it and every-time I get in with Veronica she just asks, “what’s on your mind” “what do you want to talk about today?” More structure and goal setting on what I initially wanted to accomplish here has not been met and I have no hope it will. I think this was miscommunication from my inpatient to outpatient program. I wouldn’t even consider this an outpatient program anyways. I feel she is more of a random stranger that is giving me her thoughts instead of really digging deep and getting to know the reasons behind my actions and giving me constructive tools to work on until the next session.
