Edited to add: read Dr. Evans’ uncaring response carefully. He says you need an intensive outpatient program to fill out paperwork needed in a mental health crisis, but neglects to mention he does not offer one nor offers to help you find one. If you do find one, it often takes weeks to months to get in. How does that make sense in a crisis! Don’t believe his pathetic excuses; he is simply lazy and uncaring.

Dr. Bryon Evans will not help you in times of crisis to take an FMLA leave from work. I was told by the unfriendly receptionist that I should have had a therapist and foreseen my crisis better. I did one better - I found a new psychiatrist who will help, and a new therapist who will also help. All were shocked to hear of this practice’s dangerous and uncaring policies. The receptionist also refused to book me an appointment with a physicians assistant (you’ll never get to talk to an actual doctor- again not normal for a psychiatric practice) until I begged. She told me when my last appointment was and when my next appointment was, failing to recognize I needed help right away. They also never once answered their phone on the first call in the 18 months I saw someone here. Every phone call goes to voicemail, and voicemails are not returned. You must call repeatedly sometimes up to 30 minutes to get help. Worst psychiatric experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve been having them for 24 years. You can find much better treatment in Atlanta.

I had an appointment at 3:30 I got a confirmation the day before for 3:45. I had another appointment in the area so I strategically put my appointment at 3:30. I called and spoke to the young lady at the front who told me that all of his appointments have been moved down 15 minutes and there was nothing that they could do. This is my first impression of the office I then get there and the office is a ghost town. No one is there except the front desk person and a few employees. I’ve been waited an additional 10 minutes for my appointment. Brian Evans was fine. The appointment went well until I went to the pharmacy to get my prescription and they told me it would be easier if I had a handwritten prescription that I could take anywhere. I then called the office and left a voicemail and the front desk person called me back and let me know I could come back to the office to get it either Wednesday or Thursday. I’m not going back to the office to get a prescription when I was just there. I then received a phone call this morning from someone telling me that they needed to collect my co-pay because it wasn’t collected yesterday , what exactly are they paying that front desk person to do? Have a bad attitude and no work ethic? I got my prescriptions for which I am grateful and it took me four weeks to get this appointment so I’ll go back but not because I want to.

To your reply: if you look at your overall score, which is below 4.0, and except that you will see a growing trend between all of your clients, they all say the same thing for the last five years the problem is not the patient. It’s the way you run your office, and since you only address the fact that you ran behind when the office was empty, I would venture to say that you were not open to criticism or willing to change since the last five years reviews have been consistently the same. But thank you so much for your manipulative reply

The absolute best psychiatrist I’ve ever been to. He didn’t rush me; he believed all my symptoms and he made me feel like everything was going to be okay. When one medication didn’t work, he didn’t try to make it seem like I wasn’t taking them correctly (like others had). He genuinely cared about me as a person. His staff is wonderful as well. If I ever called with a question or complaint, I would get a call that same day. I recently started having my panic attacks again and all I had to do was call him and he called in my medication. This is one doctor I will NEVER stop going to and recommend him to everyone I know.

Dr. Evans is an excellent psychiatrist. It is rare in today's medical practices to find a psychiatrist who is truly a great therapist as well. It seems to me that it is important that the doctor prescribing complicated medications should have insight into what the patient is experiencing and Dr. Evans is excellent at this. He really listens, reflects and with his years of experience gives very useful medical and therapeutic advice. As the previous reviewer stated, apart from being a skilled psychiatrist, he is kind, interesting and quite humorous. Highly recommended.

I've been a patient of doctor Evans for About 3 years now. He is Absolutely Amazing!! He takes his time with you, genuinely cares and is very understanding! Dr. Evans really knows his medications as well. I was trying to taper off a Medication that was not working. My neurologist tried for approximately a year and then referred me to a psychiatrist who also tried for about a year. Everything they tried to do did not work. However, Dr. Evans got me off the medication within about a month to a month 1/2 and I had no withdrawal symptoms. I highly recommend him and if I could give him a 10 star rating I would! I only trust 2 doctors with my life and Dr. Evan's is now one of them!! It's very hard and rare to find a doctor like him as most doctors rush through your visits to move on to the next patient.
Thank you Dr. Evans for everything you do, I truly Appreciate you!!

I was extremely disappointed with my experience with Dr. Evans. Based on my experience, I believe this practice is based only on prescription medication management and not comprehensive psychiatric care.
I brought my daughter to see Dr. Evans after our current doctor closed her practice.
We arrived early and the office staff was friendly and polite. I believe that the initial reception was a bit of a façade. Even though we were scheduled for what I thought was the first appointment after lunch, we waited for at least 45 minutes to see the doctor. It appears as if there was only one doctor, and the practice schedules multiple patients for the same time slot.
After waiting for about 30 minutes, a women (either a NP or a PA)) came into the waiting room asking “Is there anyone who would like to be seen?” I was a bit baffled at her question. We would not be there if we did not want to see a doctor. The woman clarified her statement asking if there was anyone stable on their current medication, and only needed refills. It seemed extremely unprofessional to ask patients to publically disclosed this information in a doctor's waiting room. The practice was going to squeeze in these patients between other appointments. It reminded me of a Disney Fast Pass system.
After waiting 45 minutes past our appointment time, we spend a total of 14 minutes with the doctor. During that time, he only asked only superficial questions, confirming information that I already provided in his on-line intake form. He quickly wrote months of prescriptions for my daughter’s current medicines, and sent us on our way. This seemed shocking curt for a new patient intake.
As we left, I noticed that the number of people in the waiting room continued to grow. We will not be coming back. I believe that my daughter deserve better more holistic care than what Dr. Evans is providing.
If you are looking simply for a prescription management service, other than not being respectful of your time, this practice seem fine. If you are looking for something more, I’d recommend that you look elsewhere.
