Dr Banov is an excellent physician and truly cares about his patients and their needs. It is very convenient to have teledoc appointments. It works so well with my schedule. If I need a refill or need to reschedule an appointment, I send a simple text goes his office and I receive prompt answers

Erika C Kang is completely uncaring, flippant, and unsympathetic. I've experienced extreme trauma and reached out while being almost nonfunctional. She showed absolutely no empathy or care for my mental health. She almost came off snobby. I was worried about losing my job because of my anxiety and was casually like just get another job. Well, it's not that easy. Even making the appointments was such a win for me when some days I can't even get out of bed. It is absolutely disgraceful for a doctor to act like this.

Brittany Toliver, a child-like psychiatric worker at Psych Atlanta, unfortunately was who I had to see, in place of Dr. Banov, for my new patient appointment last month. Watch out for booking online for your appointment, that they don’t slide in this substitute for being treated by Dr. Banov. Having been professionally treated and prescribed by a few psychiatrists, the same medication for a specific mental health condition since 1997, this was the first time I’ve ever been seen by a psychiatric “worker “ instead of a doctor. I found this substitute to not only have so recently departed from the class rooms to being employed by Psych Atlanta, but to also be immature in empathy for people with disabilities. Brittany Toliver also presented as disinterested, unfriendly, and without warmth to connect with. After that first session, I gave written notice that I would seek treatment elsewhere so I could be seen by a psychiatrist for my medication management needs.

This practice includes many doctors at multiple locations. Reading the other reviews on here, none of the other ones were very specific in which doctor and location they were referring to. I think finding the right doctor match is very important and this practice has many to choose from.

I visit the Roswell location and have always found the office to be clean and comfortable, although I don't spend much time in it because I always get called back within ten minutes of being there. My appointments are typically around 1pm. I've never had scheduling trouble, but my appointments get made months in advance so I don't know what it would be like for last minute appointments.

The office staff isn't overly friendly. Not rude in any way, just not outgoing/interactive. They stay shut behind a glass window (for patient privacy I assume) and just do what needs doing.

I see Dr. Hostetter and she is lovely. Nice, calm, I feel comfortable talking to her. She altered my medicine that I was previously taking and it made a positive difference.

As usual, my most recent experience with Psych Atlanta was phenomenal. Everyone who works there is always so kind and attentive. They all do their jobs so efficiently and effectively.

Psych Atlanta is one of the few Physician practices where you can still call and actually have a human answer your call. I was running just a minute or two late for my appointment yesterday, and to have the ability to have a person to call to let them know is wonderful in today’s medical environment.

And once you get to the office, everything runs in perfect harmony. You check in, and then soon enough, Dr. Banov pops his head out signaling your turn.

Dr. Banov has published books, does tons of research studies, and provides the most current services available to promote mental health. And, he spends a lot of time helping new providers to his practice. Therefore I would recommend anyone in his practice.

Yet even with all of his responsibilities, Dr. Banov still takes the time to see, evaluate and treat his long term patients. I am one of those. Dr. Banov takes the time to truly know each of his patients.

I don’t know how he manages it, but he remembers many details of your life shared in prior sessions with him.
All in all, for so many reasons, I highly recommend any of the people in this practice!!!

Dr Banov was thorough in reviewing my status with chronic, hereditary depression and the medications I take regularly. He discussed potential problems and I assured him I am functioning well. He discussed my activities, energy, general health, sleep and I reported all is satisfactory at this time and assured him I would call him if problems arise. I am grateful for his continuing care and perspectives.

Dr. Banov is a kind, caring, intelligent psychiatrist. He is very knowledgeable and is very well respected. His entire staff is very friendly and helpful.

This is easily one of the best practices in the Southeast.

I highly recommend.

When I initially reached out to this practice I was in pretty bad shape. To say i’m in worse shape 4 weeks later, is 100% accurate. I had an appointment scheduled for 9:45 this morning and due to poor mental health and a sleeping disorder, I overslept and missed my appointment. I 100% take responsibility for that missed appointment. The issue comes in when I tried to reschedule SOBBING on the phone. The front desk girl called me back and said “We’re so sorry, we’re gonna charge you $400 and we can see you in 7 weeks!” I don’t know how you work in mental health and expect people to be able to wait 7 MORE weeks after already waiting 4. This is the problem with this industry. The only place you can get help WHEN YOU NEED IT is the emergency room or mental hospital, which can keep you until THEY think you’re okay. Potentially losing my livelihood. Again, I take full responsibility for missing my appointment, but to know that if there was an emergency, they wouldn’t care and just throw you on a waitlist, regardless of your mental health. 4 weeks ago I was prescribed Cymbalta by Atlanta Psych and it runs out tomorrow. When I explained that to the office personnel, she said “Call your primary doctor or go to the emergency room” So thanks for being like so many psychiatrist. Just in it to make money. If it wasn’t already hard enough to get an appointment with a psychologist, now, I’m terrified of potentially missing ANOTHER appointment and being charged whatever outrageous amount that office specifies. I’m sure Dr. Banov is a wonderful person, as I’ve only spoken to him for 10 minutes or so, but dang guys. If you have so many patients that you have a 7 week waitlist, please either get more doctors, or stop taking clients. Or at least high intensity cases.
